Shireen's challenge was balancing being a full-time student while working full-time. Ensuring that she made the time to study and finish assignments was difficult and added stress to her already busy life.
With the help of her family and with personal motivation, she stayed disciplined and made sure to always keep the end goal in sight. She was determined to push through and worked hard and always put school first.
Shireen completed the Nurse Assistant (CNA) program at Fresno Adult School. After obtaining her CNA license, she completed the pre-requisite courses for the Vocational Nurse Program at Fresno Adult School. At the end of 53 weeks, Shireen completed the LVN course and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She was hired by Fresno Unified School District as a school nurse and enrolled in the Fresno City College (FCC) Registered Nurse (RN) pre-requisite courses. After two years, she was selected for the RN program at FCC. With hard work and dedication, Shireen is currently employed as full-time RN working on a neuroscience floor at Community Regional Medical Center. While working full-time, She is also pursuing her BSN at Fresno Pacific University.
